We are looking for a PostgreSQL Developer who can design, optimize, and maintain high-performance databases that power mission-critical applications. The role demands deep SQL expertise, performance tuning skills, and the ability to collaborate closely with backend teams to translate business requirements into efficient database logic.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on PostgreSQL development experience in production environments
• Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures
• Strong understanding of relational data modeling and normalization
• Experience with performance tuning (indexes, partitioning, vacuum strategies, caching)
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL replication, clustering, and high availability
• Ability to debug and analyze query execution plans
• Experience with schema versioning and database migrations
• Strong understanding of database security and access controls

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases, schemas, tables, indexes, triggers, functions, and stored procedures.
• Write optimized, reusable SQL queries for high-volume data processing.
• Analyze and tune slow queries, indexing strategies, memory configurations, and execution plans.
• Implement data models for scalable OLTP / OLAP systems depending on business needs.
• Manage database migrations, version control, and data transformation scripts.
• Work closely with application teams to optimize database-backed business logic.
• Configure backup, restoration, and disaster-recovery strategies.
• Maintain database performance monitoring dashboards and alerts.
• Ensure security, compliance, and least-privilege access policies for all data layers.
• Support CI/CD pipelines with database automation and change management.

Preferred Qualification

Experience with TimescaleDB, CitusDB, or Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL Exposure to ETL pipelines and large-scale data processing Experience integrating PostgreSQL with microservices architectures Familiarity with message queues (Kafka/SQS/RabbitMQ) and transactional sagas Experience with Data Warehouse / OLAP workloads Experience supporting BFSI, SaaS, fintech, or analytics-heavy applications Experience using APM tools for query monitoring and anomaly detection
