Opening Summary
We are looking for an Accounting Product Analyst Intern who understands accounting fundamentals and is interested in how accounting concepts are translated into software products. This role sits at the intersection of accounting, product design, and functional analysis.
You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and QA teams to analyze requirements, validate accounting logic, define product behavior, and support the evolution of accounting features such as ledgers, vouchers, taxation, and financial reports.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and workflows.
- Ability to think from both user and system perspective when analyzing requirements.
- Comfort with validating numbers, balances, and accounting rules.
- Ability to document functional behavior clearly and logically.
- Must be available full-time for the entire 6-month internship duration.
Responsibilities
- Analyze accounting requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications.
- Break down accounting workflows such as journal entries, vouchers, ledgers, and closing processes.
- Support product managers in defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge cases.
- Validate accounting logic implemented in the product for accuracy and completeness.
- Review financial reports such as Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow for correctness.
- Assist in creating sample datasets, scenarios, and product documentation.
- Collaborate with QA and engineering teams to clarify accounting behavior and resolve gaps.
Preferred Qualification
Experience using accounting software such as Tally, Busy, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or ERP systems.
Exposure to GST, taxation, depreciation, accruals, or compliance workflows.
Familiarity with Agile, user stories, or business analysis concepts.
Interest in SaaS products, FinTech, or accounting automation.

Stipend Eligibility Criteria
- Complete the entire 6-month internship period without early exit.
- Maintain minimum 80% attendance as per company policy.
- Deliver assigned requirement analysis, validations, and documentation on time.
- Actively participate in product discussions, reviews, and walkthroughs.
- Adhere to confidentiality, accuracy standards, and professional conduct.
- Early exit or termination due to performance or conduct issues will void stipend eligibility.
