Opening Summary

We are looking for a PostgreSQL Developer Intern who is passionate about relational databases, query optimization, and building efficient data structures. You will collaborate with backend and data engineering teams to design schemas, write SQL queries, optimize performance, and support data-driven application development.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL through academic or personal projects.
• Ability to design tables, relationships, and normalize database structures.
• Ability to write complex SQL queries and optimize them.
• Familiarity with tools like pgAdmin or DBeaver.
• Must be available full-time for the entire 6-month internship.
• Must provide GitHub, project links, or SQL script samples demonstrating work.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL tables, schemas, and relational structures.
• Write efficient SQL queries, joins, functions, and stored procedures.
• Support backend developers in integrating PostgreSQL with application services.
• Work on query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
• Assist in database backups, migration scripts, and version control of database changes.
• Participate in data modeling discussions for new features and product enhancements.
• Document database changes, schema designs, and performance improvements.

Preferred Qualification

Knowledge of advanced SQL concepts such as window functions, triggers, and transactions. Familiarity with stored procedures and PL/pgSQL scripting. Experience with database migration tools (Flyway, Liquibase). Understanding of query execution plans and performance tuning. Exposure to cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure PostgreSQL, or GCP Cloud SQL).

Stipend Eligibility Criteria

• Complete the entire 6-month internship duration.

• Follow data security, confidentiality, and organizational standards.
• Early exit or termination due to poor performance or misconduct will void stipend eligibility.
