Opening Summary

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Python Backend Developer Intern who is eager to build scalable backend services, APIs, and data-driven applications. You will work closely with engineering, product, and QA teams to develop backend components, integrate databases, and ensure reliable performance of server-side systems.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Python programming and backend development concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Django or Flask through academic/personal projects.
• Ability to design and consume APIs.
• Familiarity with SQL queries and basic database schema design.
• Understanding of version control (Git/GitHub).
• Must be available full-time for the entire 6-month internship duration.
• Must share GitHub repositories or project links demonstrating backend work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Python frameworks such as Django or Flask.
• Write clean, efficient, and reusable backend code following best practices.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Integrate third-party APIs and internal services.
• Troubleshoot backend issues, debug errors, and optimize performance.
• Participate in code reviews, requirement analysis, and sprint discussions.
• Write documentation for API endpoints, logic flow, and backend processes.

Preferred Qualification

Experience with Django REST Framework (DRF) or FastAPI. Knowledge of caching tools like Redis or Memcached. Understanding of Docker or containerized deployment basics. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Exposure to microservices architecture and async programming.

Stipend Eligibility Criteria

• Complete the full 6-month internship without discontinuation.
• Maintain minimum 80% attendance (as per organizational policy).
• Achieve assigned backend development milestones and deliverables.
• Attend stand-ups, sprint reviews, technical discussions, and project meetings.
• Follow company coding standards, security guidelines, and confidentiality rules.
• Early exit or termination due to performance/disciplinary reasons will void stipend eligibility.
